This is a great bike. I pound it every day at least 20-30 miles a day, every day. I live in the SoCal desert and I take this Trek all over the place; plenty of miles off-road in the desert; it's good on the road and trustworthy on desert trails. I recommend this bike, 100%. I love this bike. Every day, at least 20 miles a day.

Buy this bike. I love this bike. Here's the thing; I wrecked it while riding late at night in the SoCal desert and it saved me. The big overdone front suspension saved me.This is such a GREAT BIKE. For the money, you can't beat it. People whine that it's heavy, but this is not true. I'm 56 years old, 6 feet tall, 185 pounds and I can haul this bike on my shoulder up and down the desert trails, no problemo. It's not heavy. No way. I love this bike. I absolutely recommend it.It's in the shop now -- crash inspection, my fault -- and I can hardly wait to get it back.Trek Navigator 2.0. Buy it, yo. You won't regret it.

After recovering from a triple bypass I decided to treat myself to a bike that I didnt find at [@]. I am amazed at the comfort and the efficiency of the shifter and the gear ratios. For the first time since I was a kid on my "bannana bike" I truely enjoy riding again! I am looking forward to many miles of cycling with my lovely wife Gail.

I bought the Navigator 2.0 to ride the Greenway with my husband. We have been riding most every day for the past 2 months. He has the 7100 and flies past me like I'm sitting still even though I'm peddling the same speed. I have to work harder to go the same speed/distance. I have to put air in my front tire every single time I ride which is a nuisance. I totally wish I had gotten the FX which is a much faster bike--maybe not as comfortable but who cares.

I've been wanting a bike for a long time, but just didn't want to spend the money. I've been an avid walker for years(more in the past, less recently) and was just flat out bored on one morning walk and decided to go 'look' and try out some bikes. I fortunately had a wonderful salesman who spent about 2 hours with me having me try out several of the bikes in the shop. The last bike he had me try out was the Trek Navigator 2.0 and as soon as I got on it and rode it some I knew that I was going to buy it that day! It is extremely comfortable...no butt soreness:), no arm numbness or any other aches. And actually, I have problems with my knees swelling when I walk, but riding the bike makes my knees feel wonderful. I have had the bike for 11 days; I have ridden it practically everyday; started at 2-3 miles and today I did 10 miles in 2 separate 5 mile rides...yep I rode it twice. I am a fluffy almost 48 year old woman and I love this bike and I am so grateful for that salesman taking the time with me to find it. I did buy the men's in charcoal and not only do I enjoy the ride, I love the look of it. I'm going to get my son a bike and I'm also going to get a carrier for my car so we can take the bikes with us to Mackinac. This has been money I would spend again in a heartbeat!

I was 54 last May 2011 when I bought this bike after reading some very favorable reviews. I probably had not ridden a bike since my high school years so I wasn't sure it was something that I would even stick with so I didn't want to spend too much money at first. I went to my local Trek dealer and tried a few different models and settled on the Navigator 2.0 because it immediately felt comfortable and stabile. My ultimate goal when I decided to get a bike again was to have fun, get fit and hopefully shed a few pounds as well. For me this is the perfect bike. My riding area is for the most part flat with some hills that tax both me and the bike but that's what I was hoping for. Sure this model may be 10-12 lbs heavier than a pricier road bike but it would still be easier for me to lose the 10-12 than it would be to pay the $1500.00 or so to get a lighter, faster road bike. If I have to work a little harder to get this bike from point A to point B, then I feel I'm accomplishing my goal. I usually ride alone so I don't need to keep pace with anyone else. I have gone out for 3 hours and done 45 miles without any discomfort so it's comfort is not a question at all. I did change the pedals from the plastic stock setup to a metal pedal with toe clips and straps which makes a huge difference when you do have to stand up and get maximum torque to climb a hill. It's no fun and actually dangerous when a foot slips completely off a pedal, especially when you're working hard up a hill! If you buy this bike, just ask the dealer to put them on right away, you won't regret it. I also changed the grips because that piece of leather on the stock grips kept creeping off the end. Other than that it has been a great choice. In the 4-5 months that I rode after buying it, I put on a little over 500 miles and every component held up very well. Someday I may want to upgrade to something else a little lighter and faster but for now I couldn't be happier with the Navigator 2.0.

This is one easy bike to like. After years of riding cheap department store bikes, now I know why serious riders ride Trek. I bought one for both my wife and I and now we enjoy our rides on the Mississippi River levee every afternoon. Highly recommended.

Purchased aabout 5 years ago. Very nice bike that encourages me to ride. I live in a hilly area, and I find that the "posture" of the bike allows me to remain on the seat on all but the steepest portions of my rides (also can attribute that to good setup and instruction at the purchase point). I can ride for hours and not get fatigued from hunching over either. Tires are well-suited to light trails of gravel or packed dirt, and do ok if the trail gets soft- also they are very quiet on the street. My only complaint is that the gear changes are finicky, and that I find myself tweaking the shifters so I don't have chain/sprocket noise. I also have a recently developed "click" in the crank that I need to have looked at.
